Privacy
PlanetBid has no accounts, no passwords, no profiles, no analytics and no tracking cookies. What is stored is below, and nothing else.
If you buy a billboard
- Your email, the one the payment page collects. It is the only thing that identifies the owner of a billboard, since there are no accounts. It is shown to nobody: not on the billboard and not anywhere public.
- The domain you advertised, plus the name and description read from your own site. That part is public: it is the billboard.
- How much you paid and when, and the Stripe transaction id, so a charge can be proven and never applied twice.
Your card details never pass through here. Payment happens at Stripe, which is who receives and stores them. We receive a signed notice saying it was paid.
If you are just walking around
- Your IP, for a few minutes, to count how many times in a row the same thing is requested. Without it, anyone could leave every billboard on hold without paying, or use the server to throw traffic at other sites. It deletes itself shortly after.
- A random key in your browser for the daily stone. Your own browser generates it, it does not identify a person, and the name shown on the board is derived from it. Clear the site data and you are someone new.
- Your position on the planet while you are inside, so other people can see you walking. It is not stored: it travels live and disappears when you close the tab.
Who else touches it
- Stripe — the charge and the payment details.
- Supabase — the database where the above lives.
- Vercel — where the site runs.
- Cloudflare — reads the tags of the site you advertise, for the ones that will not be read directly.
Nothing is sold or handed to anyone else, and there is no third-party advertising: the advertising on this site is the billboards, and those are paid for by whoever appears on them.
For how long
The record of a purchase is kept as long as needed for accounting and for resolving a complaint. Everything else — the rate-limit IP, the position — lasts minutes or less.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to help@planetbid.lol and we will answer. Data controller: Luis Madrigal.
Deleting the email attached to a billboard that is still yours means giving it up: without it there is no way to know whose it is.
